Typical activities:
- Installing and supporting server operating system, system management software and operating system utilities
- Modifying operating system configuration and maintaining server services
- Managing file systems and system resources
- Analyzing and maintaining operating system log files
- Applying operating system patches
- Recommending operating system updates and configuration modifications
- Problems investigation
- Cooperation with other technical and non-technical teams
Required:
- Very good Linux skills (SLES, Redhat, Ubuntu), knowledge (including remote OS installation, updates/upgrades, configuration, patching, utilities, shell scripting, LVM & RAID configuration, networking, multipathing, monitoring, system logs, user management, diagnosing software & hardware issues)
- Very good general IT skills (TCP/IP networks, bash, X86 or hardware platform/virtualization, ESXi)
- Quick & flawless problem resolution under time pressure
- 1 year of work experience on similar position
- Readiness to develop new skills and qualifications
- Good communication and team-working skills
Nice to have:
- Python scripting, REST API
- Cloud solutions
- Skills in high availability cluster solutions, SAN (components & OS side configuration), virtualization solutions, knowledge of large scale UNIX systems management would be an advantage
- Skills in basic database/middleware/application administration/OS side dependencies
- VMware virtualization experience
